liquor license suspended

Dave's Downtown Taverna's liquor license is suspended for the next 10 days. The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board took the action against the Harrisonburg restaurant for allowing consumption of alcohol by a person the restaurant knew or believed was intoxicated. It's the second violation for the restaurant in 14 years. Managers are also paying a $3,000 fine. Owner Dave Miller says the suspension could hurt business; he expects business to drop by as much as half." Managers have posted a large letter on the door explaining the situation to customers. The restaurant is also closing early each day until the suspension is lifted.
