BRCC Dumps the Pump

Students at Blue Ridge Community College are being encouraged to ride to class together to save money at the gas pump. The school launched a "Dump the Pump" campaign this fall to encourage students to take the college shuttle to campus. The shuttle is paid for with student activities fees and money from the state. Ridership has increased about 75 percent from this time last year. NBC29 reports more than 200 students, faculty and staff are riding the shuttle every day. The program has two routes; the first runs from James Madison University to campus and the second leaves from downtown Staunton.
