One Obaugh Employee Sentenced, Another Awaits Trial

A former Harrisonburg car dealership employee accused of taking part in a scheme that traded the use of vehicles for drugs pleaded guilty Friday in Rockingham County Circuit Court. Jason Sapp of McGaheysville served as the general manager at the Charlie Obaugh GMC dealership on South Main Street in Harrisonburg. the News-Record reports Sapp pleaded guilty to one felony count of possession of cocaine. All other charges were dismissed. Judge James Lane sentenced Sapp to two years of probation, since Sapp has no prior convictions. Another former Obaugh employee, Garth Shrader of Harrisonburg, still faces one count of felony embezzlement, two counts of felony obtaining money by false pretenses and one felony count of manufacturing a controlled substance. Shrader had been employed as the sales manager at the dealership. He is scheduled for trial on Dec. 11th.
