The presidential race isn't the only one drawing the attention of Virginians. Former Govs. Mark Warner and Jim Gilmore are preparing for a debate today in Roanoke. They are both vying for the U.S. Senate. Warner made a campaign stop in downtown Harrisonburg yesterday. He tells WHSV he agrees with the Senate's move Wednesday to pass a new version of the $700 billion bailout plan. However, he has reservations about some of the add-ons to the plan. Warner says he'd like to ensure that taxpayers see some of the benefits if the financial institutions recover. Gilmore's campaign declined to comment ahead the debate.
